A bill for an act
relating to energy; appropriating money for biomass facility grant.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $4,500,000 is appropriated from state energy program funds received by the Office
of Energy Security under the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to
the commissioner of commerce for a grant to the recipient of a loan approved by the Iron
Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board, as required by Minnesota Statutes, section
298.227, paragraph (b), for construction of a facility that produces biomass fuels for use in
industrial furnaces and boilers.
