  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; extending availability of a 
  1.3             planning grant for facility needs for certain 
  1.4             districts acting as a joint powers agreement. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 1994, chapter 647, article 5, section 28, 
  1.7   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 2.  [PLANNING GRANT.] For a grant to independent 
  1.9   school district Nos. 325, Lakefield; 328, Sioux Valley; 330, 
  1.10  Heron Lake-Okabena; 513, Brewster; and 516, Round Lake acting as 
  1.11  a joint powers agreement: 
  1.12       $100,000     .....     1995 
  1.13     The grant is to cover costs associated with planning for 
  1.14  facility needs for a combined district.  The facilities must 
  1.15  provide for the location of a significant number of 
  1.16  noneducational student and community service programs within the 
  1.17  facility. 
  1.18     This appropriation is available until June 30, 1997. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
