  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; modifying secondary vocational 
  1.3             education aid guarantee; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             1996, section 124.573, subdivision 2f. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 124.573, 
  1.7   subdivision 2f, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 2f.  [AID GUARANTEE.] Notwithstanding subdivision 2b, 
  1.9   the secondary vocational education aid for a school district is 
  1.10  not less than the lesser of: 
  1.11     (a) 95 percent of the secondary vocational education aid 
  1.12  the district received for the previous fiscal year; or 
  1.13     (b) 40 percent of the approved expenditures for secondary 
  1.14  vocational programs included in subdivision 2b, paragraph (b); 
  1.15  or 
  1.16     (c) notwithstanding paragraphs (a) and (b), a school 
  1.17  district's aid shall not be less than 25 percent of the lesser 
  1.18  of (1) $200,000, or (2) the approved expenditure included in 
  1.19  subdivision 2b, paragraph (b). 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.21     Section 1 is effective for revenue for fiscal year 1998.
