A bill for an act
 relating to nursing homes and home care; adding requirements for licensure;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 144A.04, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 144A.04, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Effective October 1, 2009, a nursing
home must have at least one fully operational automatic external defibrillator accessible at
all times. "Automatic external defibrillator" means a medical device heart monitor and
defibrillator as defined by section 604A.01, subdivision 2, paragraph (e).
