relating to economic development; requiring a report regarding the economic
impact of noncompete agreements.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin REPORT REGARDING ECONOMIC IMPACT OF CERTAIN
NONCOMPETE AGREEMENTS.

new text begin The Department of Employment and Economic Development shall study the
economic impact on Minnesota of noncompete provisions in agreements between
employers and employees. The report shall include, but is not limited to, the impact of
noncompete provisions in employment agreements on low-wage earning Minnesotans.
The department shall report its findings to the house of representatives committee with
jurisdiction over commerce and regulatory reform no later than February 1, 2016.
