  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the sale of 
  1.3             certain parcels of tax-forfeited land that border 
  1.4             public waters in Cook county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING 
  1.7   ON PUBLIC WATERS; COOK COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, and the public sale provisions of 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, Cook county may sell by private 
  1.11  sale the tax-forfeited lands bordering public waters that are 
  1.12  described in paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of 
  1.13  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.14     (b) The conveyances must be in a form approved by the 
  1.15  attorney general. 
  1.16     (c) The parcels of land that may be conveyed are located in 
  1.17  Cook county and are described as: 
  1.18     (1) an undivided 1/3 interest in Government Lot 5, Section 
  1.19  28, Township 63 North, Range 1 East, containing approximately 
  1.20  14.08 acres; and 
  1.21     (2) an undivided 1/4 interest in the South one-half of the 
  1.22  SW 1/4, the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4, and Government Lot 4, Section 
  1.23  23, Township 63 North, Range 4 East. 
  1.24     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  1.25  management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  2.1   returned to private ownership. 
  2.2      Sec. 2.  [PUBLIC SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING ON 
  2.3   PUBLIC WATERS; COOK COUNTY.] 
  2.4      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  2.5   282.018, subdivision 1, Cook county may sell the tax-forfeited 
  2.6   lands bordering public waters that are described in paragraph 
  2.7   (c), under the remaining provisions of Minnesota Statutes, 
  2.8   chapter 282. 
  2.9      (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  2.10  attorney general. 
  2.11     (c) The parcel of land that may be conveyed is located in 
  2.12  Cook county and is described as: 
  2.13     Part of Lot 2 and part of the NE 1/4 of SE 1/4, Section 22, 
  2.14  Township 63 North, Range 3 East, containing approximately 65 
  2.15  acres. 
  2.16     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.17  management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  2.18  returned to private ownership. 
  2.19     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.20     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.21  enactment.
