  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to gambling; appropriating money for a 
  1.3             culturally competent compulsive gambling treatment 
  1.4             program in the Southeast Asian communities. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $500,000 in fiscal year 2004 and $500,000 in fiscal year 
  1.8   2005 are appropriated from the lottery prize fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of human services for a grant to the Southeast 
  1.10  Asian Problem Gambling Consortium.  The consortium must provide 
  1.11  statewide compulsive gambling prevention and treatment services 
  1.12  for Lao, Hmong, Vietnamese, and Cambodian families, adults, and 
  1.13  adolescents.  The unencumbered balance of the appropriation from 
  1.14  the lottery prize fund in the first year of the biennium does 
  1.15  not cancel but is available for the second year.
