A bill for an act
relating to human services; modifying payment rates for a certain children's
hospital; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 256.969, by adding a
subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 256.969, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Hospital for children with disabilities. new text end

new text begin All services covered by medical
assistance and provided by a former state hospital that specializes in the treatment
of cerebral palsy, spina bifida, epilepsy, closed head injuries, specialized orthopedic
problems, and other disabling conditions shall be paid for at rates that reflect the hospital's
actual costs in providing these services. For purposes of this subdivision, costs incurred in
the provision of these services shall be determined each year using the most recent audited
hospital cost report prepared and filed in accordance with Social Security Act, title XVIII,
with adjustments equal to the rate of medical cost increases for each year between the year
of that audit and the year in which the services will be provided.
