  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to campaign finance; prohibiting party units 
  1.3             from accepting contributions indirectly they could not 
  1.4             accept directly; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, 
  1.5             section 10A.27, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 10A.27, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 14.  [CONTRIBUTIONS TO POLITICAL PARTIES.] A 
  1.10  political party unit may not accept a transfer from its national 
  1.11  party organization, nor from a party unit in any other state, 
  1.12  unless the transfer is from a separate and segregated fund that 
  1.13  contains only contributions from individuals and associations 
  1.14  that would have been permitted under the law of this state if 
  1.15  they had been made directly to the political party unit.  
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
