A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; appropriating money for replacement transit service
providers in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; TRANSIT MODERNIZATION.

new text begin (a) $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the
Metropolitan Council for grants to replacement service providers under Minnesota Statutes,
section 473.388. The council must provide grants to eligible recipients in amounts specified
by the Suburban Transit Association. The council must not retain any portion of the funds
appropriated under this section. This is a onetime appropriation.

new text begin (b) Funds under this section are for transit service modernization and enhancements,
which may include operating and capital costs, and administrative expenses.

Scott, and Washington.
