A bill for an act
relating to transportation; defining project for metropolitan area regional railroad
authorities' contributions toward capital costs of light rail transit or commuter
rail project; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 398A.10, by adding a
subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 398A.10, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin For purposes of this section, "project" means the initial
construction of a minimum operable segment of a new light rail transit or commuter rail
line, but does not include infill stations, project enhancements, extensions, or supportive
infrastructure, constructed after the rail transit is operational.
