  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; appropriating money for a 
  1.3             grant to the Nobles county joint powers transit 
  1.4             authority for operating costs of the prairieland 
  1.5             transit system.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; PRAIRIELAND TRANSIT SYSTEM.] 
  1.8      $67,000 for fiscal year 2002 and $67,000 for fiscal year 
  1.9   2003 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.10  of transportation for a grant to the Nobles county joint powers 
  1.11  transit authority for up to 65 percent of the costs of operating 
  1.12  the prairieland transit system.  The grant awarded under this 
  1.13  section is in addition to any money received by any public 
  1.14  transit provider in fiscal years 2002 and 2003 under Minnesota 
  1.15  Statutes, section 174.24.  The commissioner shall add this 
  1.16  appropriation to the agency's base funding for Greater Minnesota 
  1.17  transit assistance for the 2004-2005 biennium.
