  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of 
  1.3             certain tax-forfeited land in Itasca county. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; ITASCA 
  1.6   COUNTY.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota 
  1.8   Statutes, chapter 282, or other law to the contrary, Itasca 
  1.9   county may sell by private sale the tax-forfeited land described 
  1.10  in paragraph (c) to an adjoining landowner. 
  1.11     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.12  attorney general for consideration no less than the appraised 
  1.13  value of the land. 
  1.14     (c) The land to be sold is located in Itasca county and is 
  1.15  described as: 
  1.16     (1) that part of Outlot B, the north one-half of the 
  1.17  vacated roadway south of Outlot B of the Plat of GREEN-ROCK on 
  1.18  file at the Itasca county recorder's office, and Government Lot 
  1.19  3, Section 24, Township 60 North, Range 22 West of the Fourth 
  1.20  Principal Meridian described as follows: 
  1.21     Commencing at the northwest corner of said Outlot B; thence 
  1.22  South 88 degrees 30 minutes 57 seconds West, bearing assigned, 
  1.23  along the extended north line of said Outlot B, 14.64 feet; 
  1.24  thence North 06 degrees 25 minutes 20 seconds West 175.49 feet; 
  2.1   thence South 87 degrees 58 minutes 29 seconds East 377.61 feet 
  2.2   to the point of beginning of the tract to be described; thence 
  2.3   South 89 degrees 27 minutes 27 seconds East 269.45 feet; thence 
  2.4   South 02 degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds East 142.22 feet more or 
  2.5   less to the south line of said Government Lot 3 and the east 
  2.6   corner of said Outlot B; thence South 80 degrees 20 minutes 57 
  2.7   seconds West along the south line of Outlot B 85.55 feet more or 
  2.8   less to the intersection of the south line of Outlot B and the 
  2.9   west line of Scott Avenue projected north; thence South 09 
  2.10  degrees 39 minutes 03 seconds East along the west line of said 
  2.11  projected Scott Avenue 16.50 feet to the south line of the north 
  2.12  half of the vacated roadway lying south of Outlot B; thence 
  2.13  South 80 degrees 20 minutes 57 seconds West along said south 
  2.14  line of north half of vacated roadway 187.10 feet more or less 
  2.15  to intersect a line bearing South 02 degrees 43 minutes 38 
  2.16  seconds East from the point of beginning; thence North 02 
  2.17  degrees 43 minutes 38 seconds West 206.87 feet more or less to 
  2.18  the point of beginning.  Tract contains 1.1 acres more or less; 
  2.19     (2) that part of SE-NW, Section 24, Township 60 North, 
  2.20  Range 22 West, lying south and east of County Road 531; 
  2.21     (3) the South 295.16 feet of the West 295.16 feet of SE-SW 
  2.22  of Section 10, Township 60 North, Range 25 West; 
  2.23     (4) the North 100 feet of the South 768 feet of SW-NW, 
  2.24  Section 33, Township 62 North, Range 24 West, lying East of 
  2.25  State Highway No. 1 LESS AND EXCEPT the East 245 feet thereof; 
  2.26  and 
  2.27     (5) that part of Lot 3 lying East of a line drawn parallel 
  2.28  to and 66 feet West of the E 1/16th line of Section 20, Township 
  2.29  150 North, Range 28 West. 
  2.30     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.31  management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  2.32  returned to private ownership.
