  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; appropriating money for 
  1.3             forest management. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; FOREST MANAGEMENT.] 
  1.6      (a) $7,884,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of natural resources for the biennium ending June 
  1.8   30, 2003, for forest management.  The appropriation must be used 
  1.9   as follows: 
  1.10     (1) $610,000 the first year and $610,000 the second year is 
  1.11  for tree planting; 
  1.12     (2) $550,000 the first year and $1,150,000 the second year 
  1.13  is for field services; 
  1.14     (3) $250,000 the first year and $500,000 the second year is 
  1.15  for timber sales; 
  1.16     (4) $375,000 the first year and $375,000 the second year is 
  1.17  for noncommercial thinning; 
  1.18     (5) $210,000 the first year and $210,000 the second year is 
  1.19  for commercial thinning; 
  1.20     (6) $375,000 the first year and $375,000 the second year is 
  1.21  for the forest inventory; and 
  1.22     (7) $1,147,000 the first year and $1,147,000 the second 
  1.23  year is for the forest resources council for implementation of 
  1.24  the Sustainable Forest Resources Act. 
  2.1      (b) The appropriations in paragraph (a), clauses (1) and 
  2.2   (6), are one-time appropriations.  The commissioner may not 
  2.3   reprogram the appropriations in paragraph (a) for other purposes.
