  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; establishing crow hunting 
  1.3             season; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.4             97B.731, subdivision 3. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 97B.731, 
  1.7   subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 3.  [CROW SEASON.] The commissioner shall prescribe a 
  1.9   124-day open season and restrictions for taking crows.  The open 
  1.10  season may not be shorter than the maximum season allowed under 
  1.11  federal law.  Crows may be taken from June 14 to March 28, on 
  1.12  Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only.  The remainder of the year 
  1.13  crows may be taken as allowed by federal law. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
