  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the city of Buffalo Lake; authorizing the 
  1.3             city to negotiate contracts for a specific project 
  1.4             without competitive bids. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CITY OF BUFFALO LAKE; NEGOTIATED CONTRACTS.] 
  1.7      The city of Buffalo Lake may negotiate one or more 
  1.8   contracts for the acquisition and betterment of the wastewater 
  1.9   pretreatment facility without complying with Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.10  section 471.345, subdivisions 3 to 5, provided that the city 
  1.11  council first determines by resolution that the procedure will 
  1.12  be economically advantageous to the city. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.14     This act is effective the day after compliance with 
  1.15  Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3, by the 
  1.16  governing body and chief clerical officer of the city of Buffalo 
  1.17  Lake.
