A bill for an act
relating to employment; appropriating money for extended employment services
for persons with severe disabilities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin EXTENDED EMPLOYMENT FOR PERSONS WITH SEVERE
DISABILITIES; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2016 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2017 from the general fund
and $500,000 in fiscal year 2016 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2017 from the workforce
development fund are appropriated to the commissioner of employment and economic
development for rate increases to providers of extended employment services for persons
with severe disabilities under Minnesota Statutes, section 268A.15. For purposes of
this section, Minnesota Diversified Industries, Inc. is an eligible provider of extended
employment services for persons with severe disabilities under Minnesota Statutes,
section 268A.15.

Sec. 2. new text begin EXTENDED EMPLOYMENT; OLMSTEAD PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
COSTS; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $12,000,000 in fiscal year 2016 from the general fund is appropriated to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for grants to current providers
of extended employment services for persons with severe disabilities under Minnesota
Statutes, section 268A.15, for costs associated with Olmstead Plan implementation. For
purposes of this section, Minnesota Diversified Industries, Inc. is an eligible provider
of extended employment services for persons with severe disabilities under Minnesota
Statutes, section 268A.15. This appropriation is available until June 30, 2019.
