  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; clarifying the definition of 
  1.3             curriculum under the school district process to plan, 
  1.4             provide, and improve education instruction and 
  1.5             curriculum relating to the state's graduation 
  1.6             standards; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.7             120B.11, subdivision 1.  
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 120B.11, 
  1.10  subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.11     Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITIONS.] For the purposes of this 
  1.12  section and section 120B.10, the following terms have the 
  1.13  meanings given them. 
  1.14     (a) "Instruction" means methods of providing learning 
  1.15  experiences that enables a student to meet graduation standards. 
  1.16     (b) "Curriculum" means written plans for providing students 
  1.17  with learning experiences that lead to knowledge, and skills, 
  1.18  and positive attitudes. 
  1.19     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.20  following final enactment.
