  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for 
  1.3             construction of local public service facilities. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $10,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund for the 
  1.7   biennium ending June 30, 2003, to the commissioner of trade and 
  1.8   economic development to fund construction under Minnesota 
  1.9   Statutes, section 116J.8731, of local public service facilities, 
  1.10  such as emergency medical services buildings, in rural 
  1.11  Minnesota.  Funding is contingent on a partnership between local 
  1.12  units of government requesting money and on funding recipients 
  1.13  providing one-to-one matching funds from nonstate sources.
