A bill for an act
relating to local government; making technical changes to Ramsey County human
resources statutes; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 383A.289,
subdivision 3; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 383A.295, subdivision
3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 383A.289, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

Term of eligibility.

The term of eligibility of eligibles on lists shall be
determined by the personnel director deleted text begin but shall not be less than six monthsdeleted text end .

Sec. 2. new text begin REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION.

new text begin In Minnesota Statutes, chapter 383A, the revisor shall change the terms "personnel
department," "department of personnel," "personnel director," and "director of personnel,"
to "human resources department," "department of human resources," "human resources
director," and "director of human resources." The revisor shall make any necessary
grammatical changes or changes to sentence structure necessary to preserve the meaning
of the text as a result of this terminology change.

county's chief clerical officer timely comply with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021,
subdivisions 2 and 3.

383A.295 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.

Subd. 3.

Retirement.

Employees in the classified and unclassified service, except for elected officials, shall be retired no later than the first day of the month after the month in which the employee reached the age of 70.
