  1.3   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.4      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.5      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.6   commissioner of human services for the biennium beginning July 
  1.7   1, 1999, for the purpose of providing grants according to 
  1.8   Minnesota Statutes, section 257.3571, subdivision 2a, to the 
  1.9   Indian child welfare defense corporation to promote statewide 
  1.10  compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act.
