  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to community development; providing funding 
  1.3             for educating employers about HIV/AIDS in the 
  1.4             workplace; coordinating housing programs for 
  1.5             individuals with HIV/AIDS; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [HIV HOUSING COORDINATION; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [MINNESOTA HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY.] $30,000 
  1.9   in fiscal year 2000 and $30,000 in fiscal year 2001 are 
  1.10  appropriated from the general fund for transfer to the housing 
  1.11  development fund for services authorized in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.12  section 462A.07, to reduce health risk related to HIV/AIDS 
  1.13  disease for individuals and communities.  
  1.14     Subd. 2.  [REPORT TO LEGISLATURE.] The commissioner of the 
  1.15  Minnesota housing finance agency shall report to the legislature 
  1.16  by February 1, 2001, on housing opportunities and needs for 
  1.17  reducing health risks related to HIV/AIDS for individuals or 
  1.18  communities in Minnesota, current and proposed strategies for 
  1.19  coordinating local, state, and federal housing resources to 
  1.20  address identified opportunities and needs, plans for future 
  1.21  implementation, and recommendations for future legislative 
  1.22  action.  The commissioner shall consult with the commissioners 
  1.23  of health and human services and representatives of affected 
  1.24  populations in preparing this report.  
  1.25     Sec. 2.  [HIV/AIDS IN WORKPLACE EDUCATION; APPROPRIATION.] 
  2.1      $150,000 is appropriated from the general fund for the 
  2.2   biennium ending June 30, 2001, to the commissioner of economic 
  2.3   security for the rehabilitation services branch to provide 
  2.4   education to employers about HIV/AIDS in the workplace.
