A bill for an act
relating to health; limiting the time for filling prescription drug orders for opioid
drugs; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 151.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) No prescription drug order for an opioid drug may be filled by a pharmacist or
dispenser more than 30 days after the date on which the prescription was issued. Nothing
in this section shall prevent the Board of Pharmacy from adopting rules setting limitations
on refilling a prescription drug order for an opioid drug or from setting limitations for filling
a prescription drug order for a non-opioid drug. For purposes of this section, "dispenser"
has the meaning provided in section 152.126.

requirements of paragraph (a), and may use the expedited process in section 14.389.
