A bill for an act
relating to state government; appropriating money to study and recommend an
amendment to the Minnesota Constitution on human rights enforcement.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human rights to study and make recommendations for an amendment to the Minnesota
Constitution affirming the enforcement of human rights. The commissioner shall conduct
surveys and hold statewide community meetings for the purpose of educating communities
on the constitutional amendment and gauging community support for a constitutional
amendment. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2024.
