A bill for an act
 relating to agriculture; establishing a farmer ombudsman office to provide
one-stop regulatory assistance; appropriating money; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2014, section 17.03, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 17.03, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin A farmer ombudsman office is established
within the Department of Agriculture to provide one-stop access for persons in need of
information or assistance to obtain or renew licenses, meet state regulatory requirements,
or resolve disputes with state agencies.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $100,000 in fiscal year 2016 and $100,000 in fiscal year 2017 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for the purposes of section 1.
