  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to annexation; limiting annexation of urban 
  1.3             towns to certain processes; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 2000, section 368.01, by adding a subdivision.
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 368.01, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 32.  [ANNEXATION EXEMPTION.] A town authorized to 
  1.9   exercise the powers enumerated in this section, or any portion 
  1.10  of the town, must not be annexed to a contiguous city except as 
  1.11  provided in sections 414.061 and 414.063.
