A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating money for a statewide hearing aid loan bank for
infants and children who are deaf or who have a hearing loss.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

$140,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of health for
the biennium beginning July 1, 2007, for the purpose of providing a statewide hearing
aid and instrument loan bank to families with children newly diagnosed with hearing
loss from birth to the age of ten. This appropriation shall cover the administrative costs
of the program.
