A bill for an act
relating to jobs; awarding grants for the summer youth employment program;
appropriating money to the city of St. Paul.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $558,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $558,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated from
the workforce development fund to the commissioner of the Department of Employment
and Economic Development for a grant to the city of St. Paul for grants to fund summer
youth employment in St. Paul. The grants shall be used to fund up to 500 jobs for youth
each summer. The commissioner shall establish criteria for awarding the grants within the
city of St. Paul. This appropriation is added to the agency's budget base and is available in
either year of the biennium and is available until spent.
