  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the conveyance of 
  1.3             tax-forfeited land to the city of Mankato. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CONVEYANCE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND, BLUE EARTH 
  1.6   COUNTY.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [CONVEYANCE.] (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota 
  1.8   Statutes, sections 92.45 and 282.018, subdivision 1, Blue Earth 
  1.9   county may sell the tax-forfeited land bordering public water 
  1.10  that is described in subdivision 2 under the remaining 
  1.11  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.12     (b) The county has determined that it is in the public's 
  1.13  best interest to sell the parcels to the city of Mankato for use 
  1.14  in connection with its north-south city length bike trail. 
  1.15     (c) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.16  attorney general and provide that the land reverts to the state 
  1.17  if the city stops using the land for public recreational 
  1.18  purposes. 
  1.19     Subd. 2.  [DESCRIPTION.] The land that may be conveyed is 
  1.20  located in Blue Earth county and is described as: 
  1.21     That part of Government Lot 4 in Section 7, Township 108, 
  1.22     North Range 26 West, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, being 
  1.23     bounded by the following described lines: 
  1.24     On the North by the south line of a plat entitled Mankato 
  2.1      City and its westerly extension; On the South by the north 
  2.2      line of a plat entitled City of Mankato; On the East by the 
  2.3      westerly right-of-way line of the abandoned Union Pacific 
  2.4      Railroad Company; and On the West by the Minnesota River. 
  2.5      Containing 2.84 acres, more or less.  
  2.6      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.7      Section 1 is effective the day after its final enactment.
