  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to veterans; appropriating money for 
  1.3             assistance in making certain claims. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; VETERANS' CLAIMS.] 
  1.6      $30,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of veterans affairs to fund a program of the 
  1.8   Minnesota state council of the Vietnam Veterans of America to 
  1.9   assist Vietnam veterans and Vietnam-era veterans in the 
  1.10  preparation and presentation of their claims to the United 
  1.11  States government for compensation and other benefits to which 
  1.12  they are entitled as a result of disabilities incurred in 
  1.13  military service.  This appropriation may not be used for 
  1.14  membership recruitment.  This appropriation is available until 
  1.15  June 30, 1997.
