A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for grants for ice skating
rinks and arenas.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; ICE SKATING RINKS AND ARENAS, GRANTS.

new text begin $2,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Minnesota Amateur Sports
Commission to make grants to public or private, not-for-profit organizations to acquire,
predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip ice skating rinks or arenas. A grant must
be matched by at least $4 of nonstate money for every $1 of grant money from this
appropriation and is subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.502. The maximum grant
amount for a project is $a?|a?|. This appropriation is available until the grant program is
completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
