A bill for an act
relating to judiciary; authorizing use of law library fees for enhancements to
state court technology; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, sections 134A.12;
134A.13.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 134A.12, is amended to read:

134A.12 TAXABLE AS COSTS.

The law library fee is a cost in the action and taxable as such, and is to be allotted
for the support of the library. new text begin Funds may also be allotted for purposes of augmenting or
enhancing technology systems and infrastructure paid for and supported by the state courts.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 134A.13, is amended to read:

134A.13 DEPOSITS WITH COUNTY TREASURER; COUNTY AUDITOR.

These fees shall be paid to the county treasurer or county auditor, who shall give a
receipt therefor. The county treasurer or county auditor may disburse these funds and any
other money belonging to this board only at the direction of the board of trustees. new text begin If the
board allots funds for technology purposes, the county treasurer or county auditor shall
disburse those funds at the direction of the county board.
