A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for grants for ice skating
rinks and arenas.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; ICE SKATING RINKS AND ARENAS, GRANTS.

new text begin $2,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
administration for grants to public or private, not-for-profit organizations to acquire,
predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip ice skating rinks or arenas. The
commissioner may consult with the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission on the merits
of any grant applications received. A grant must be matched by at least $4 of nonstate
money for every $1 of grant money from this appropriation and is subject to Minnesota
Statutes, section 16A.502. The maximum grant amount for a project is $a?|.a?|. This
appropriation is available until the grant program is completed or abandoned, subject
to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
