  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the WIC program. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION FOR WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN 
  1.6   PROGRAM.] 
  1.7      $600,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of human services to be used for the WIC program 
  1.9   for modernization, outreach, and education.  $300,000 is to be 
  1.10  available for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996, and $300,000 
  1.11  is to be available for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1997.  
  1.12  The unencumbered balance remaining in the first year does not 
  1.13  cancel but is available for the second year.
