  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; providing for additional 
  1.3             research on soybean diseases and genetics; 
  1.4             appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; SOYBEAN DISEASES AND GENETICS.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   department of agriculture for fiscal year 2000 for a grant to a 
  1.9   qualified institution or organization to pursue further research 
  1.10  on diseases of soybeans including, but not limited to, soybean 
  1.11  cyst nematode (SCN), white mold (sclerotinia stem rot), 
  1.12  phytophthora root rot (PRR), and iron deficiency chlorosis.  
  1.13  $....... of this appropriation may be designated for research on 
  1.14  specialty gene traits of soybeans.
