A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money to operate and maintain sites
for Minnesota River dredge spoil.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SITES FOR MINNESOTA RIVER DREDGE SPOIL.

new text begin $480,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $480,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from the
general fund to the Board of Water and Soil Resources for a grant to the Lower Minnesota
River Watershed District to defray the annual cost of operating and maintaining sites for
dredge spoil to sustain the state, national, and international commercial and recreational
navigation on the lower Minnesota River so that the citizens of the Lower Minnesota River
Watershed District are not solely obligated to pay the costs that have state, national, and
international benefits to the Minnesota economy.
