A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money to compensate producers for livestock
destroyed or crippled by wolves.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $175,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $175,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for compensation for destroyed or crippled
livestock under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.737. If the amount appropriated for fiscal year
2022 is insufficient, the amount appropriated for fiscal year 2023 is available to the
commissioner in fiscal year 2022. The commissioner may use up to $5,000 of the
appropriation each year to reimburse expenses incurred by university extension agents to
provide the fair market value of destroyed or crippled livestock.
