BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education for the fiscal years
designated.

new text begin (b) The African American Registry must use the grant funds to establish partnerships
with Metropolitan State University and the University of St. Thomas to improve the cultural
competency of candidates seeking a first teaching license. The African American Registry
shall report to the legislature, by January 15 of each year, a detailed report regarding the
funds used. The report must include the number of teachers prepared.
