A bill for an act
relating to education finance; restoring funding for
the basic community education program; appropriating
money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section
124D.20, subdivision 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 124D.20,
subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

General community education revenue.

The
general community education revenue for a district equals $5.95
for fiscal year 2003 and 2004 and $5.23 for fiscal year 2005
and new text begin $5.95 for fiscal year 2006 and new text end later, times the greater of
1,335 or the population of the district. The population of the
district is determined according to section 275.14.
