  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the metropolitan council; requiring the 
  1.3             council to pay Dakota county a sum of money to 
  1.4             reimburse the county for payments made to the planning 
  1.5             assistance loan fund; providing that the final payment 
  1.6             due on the loan be deemed a grant. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [PLANNING ASSISTANCE LOAN FUND; GRANT TO DAKOTA 
  1.9   COUNTY.] 
  1.10     The metropolitan council shall pay Dakota county the sum of 
  1.11  $100,000 as a grant from the planning assistance loan fund 
  1.12  established under Minnesota Statutes, section 473.867, to 
  1.13  reimburse the county for payments the county made in 1994 and 
  1.14  1995 to the council to satisfy a loan made to Dakota county from 
  1.15  the fund to enable Dakota county to participate in the site 
  1.16  selection process of the dual-track airport planning process.  
  1.17  The $50,000 payment due from Dakota county to the council in 
  1.18  1996, as the final payment on the loan, shall be forgiven and 
  1.19  deemed to be a grant from the fund.  
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [APPLICATION.] 
  1.21     This act applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, 
  1.22  Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
