A bill for an act
relating to transportation; requiring legislative authorization for certain
Metropolitan Airports Commission agreements; amending Minnesota Statutes
2006, section 473.608, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 473.608, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Agreement between Metropolitan Airports Commission and airline
companies. new text end

new text begin The Metropolitan Airports Commission must not enter into an agreement with
a term of more than six months with one or more carriers that operate at Minneapolis-St.
Paul International Airport, if that agreement results in shared concession revenues, a
reduction in lease payments, payment of rebates, or otherwise reduces carriers costs of
operation by a total amount in excess of $100,000,000, unless the agreement is specifically
approved and authorized in advance by the legislature in law.
