A bill for an act
 relating to public safety; appropriating money for addressing mental health in the
law enforcement and first responder communities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; HEROES HELPING HEROES.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of public safety to provide a grant to Heroes Helping Heroes, a Minnesota 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization, to fund mental health treatment for present and former law enforcement officers
and first responders facing employment-related mental health issues, utilizing interactive
group activity and other methods.
