  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to economic development; providing money to 
  1.3             promote wireless Internet access in rural southwestern 
  1.4             Minnesota; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $400,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   department of trade and economic development for a grant to 
  1.9   independent school district No. 2884, Red Rock Central, to 
  1.10  expand broadband Internet access in an area unlikely to receive 
  1.11  wireless broadband access.  This appropriation is for capital 
  1.12  expenditures relating to providing access to business and 
  1.13  residences.  Eligible capital expenditures include equipment and 
  1.14  construction cost, planning, engineering, and preliminary design.
