  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, 
  1.3             article 1, by adding a section; affirming the right of 
  1.4             citizens to hunt or take game and fish. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED.] 
  1.7      An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article 1, by 
  1.8   adding a section, is proposed to the people.  If the amendment 
  1.9   is adopted, the section will read as follows: 
  1.10     Sec. 18.  The citizens have a right to fish, hunt, and take 
  1.11  game in a safe, sustained-yield manner, subject only to 
  1.12  reasonable restrictions related to harvest, licensure, seasons, 
  1.13  limits, and methods, times, and locations of taking, as 
  1.14  prescribed by law. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [SUBMISSION TO VOTERS.] 
  1.16     The proposed amendment must be submitted to the people at 
  1.17  the 1998 general election.  The question submitted shall be: 
  1.18     "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to affirm the 
  1.19  right of citizens to fish, hunt, and take game in a safe, 
  1.20  sustained-yield manner, subject only to reasonable restrictions 
  1.21  related to harvest, licensure, seasons, limits, and methods, 
  1.22  times, and locations of taking, as prescribed by law? 
  1.23                                     Yes .......
  1.24                                     No ........"
