  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing one-time 
  1.3             energy assistance aid to school districts; 
  1.4             appropriating money.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [FUEL ASSISTANCE REVENUE.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [REVENUE.] For fiscal year 2001 only, a 
  1.8   school district is eligible for energy assistance aid equal to 
  1.9   $30 times the district's adjusted marginal cost pupil units for 
  1.10  that year. 
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] $29,500,000 is appropriated in 
  1.12  fiscal year 2001 from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.13  children, families, and learning for the payment of energy 
  1.14  assistance aid. 
  1.15     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.16  following final enactment.
