  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for a secondary 
  1.3             student technical program; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND 
  1.7   LEARNING.] The sum indicated in this section is appropriated 
  1.8   from the general fund to the department of children, families, 
  1.9   and learning for the fiscal year designated. 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [SECONDARY STUDENT TECHNICAL TRAINING.] For a 
  1.11  program to provide two to three weeks of training for students 
  1.12  in grades 11 and 12 at the Mesabi range community and technical 
  1.13  college to assist students in satisfying state graduation 
  1.14  standard requirements. 
  1.15       $500,000     .....     2000
  1.16     This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.17     Participation in the program must be limited to secondary 
  1.18  students enrolled in school districts located in the region 
  1.19  served by the technical college.  Students participating in the 
  1.20  program must maintain eligibility to participate in the 
  1.21  post-secondary enrollment options program.
