A bill for an act
relating to insurance; restricting insurance companies
from limiting quotes to one agent; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2004, section 72A.20, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 72A.20, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:

new text begin An insurance company must
disclose, upon request by any insurance producer eligible to
place business with the company under section 60K.49,
subdivision 2, the amount quoted by the company to any other
producer to insure the risk of a particular policyholder. No
insurance company may refuse to supply a quote to an insurance
producer eligible to place business with the company under
section 60K.49, subdivision 2, on the basis that the company
provided a quote for the same policyholder to another insurance
producer.
