  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to human services; requiring a report; 
  1.3             providing a grant to not-for-profit organizations 
  1.4             which train or provide service dogs to people with 
  1.5             disabilities; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [REPORT.] 
  1.8      The commissioner of human services shall report to the 
  1.9   legislature by January 15, 1999, on the use of the grants 
  1.10  provided in section 2. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.12     $50,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.13  commissioner of human services for the biennium ending June 30, 
  1.14  1999, for the purpose of providing grants to not-for-profit 
  1.15  organizations which train or provide service dogs for persons 
  1.16  with disabilities.
