  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing a grant to 
  1.3             independent school district No. 861, Winona, for a 
  1.4             full day kindergarten program at the Jefferson 
  1.5             elementary school; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN GRANT.] 
  1.8      $133,000 in fiscal year 2000 and $133,000 in fiscal year 
  1.9   2001 are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.10  of children, families, and learning for a grant to independent 
  1.11  school district No. 861, Winona, for the operation of a full day 
  1.12  kindergarten program at Jefferson elementary school. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
