  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education funding; clarifying a grant to 
  1.3             independent school district No. 330, Heron 
  1.4             Lake-Okabena; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [GRANT CLARIFICATION.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the portion 
  1.8   of the grant awarded to the Southwest Star Concept School for 
  1.9   funds that were initially awarded, but not encumbered by July 1, 
  1.10  1998, remains available to independent school district No. 330, 
  1.11  Heron Lake-Okabena. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.13     $39,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2000 from the 
  1.14  general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.15  learning for the remainder of the grant to independent school 
  1.16  district No. 330, Heron Lake-Okabena, for the Southwest Star 
  1.17  Concept School. 
  1.18     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective retroactive to June 30, 1998.
